Human Resource (HR)

Craigslist is a fantastic, mostly free resource(some larger cities charge $25.00 per ad) for posting job orders. I recently posted five job orders on Craigslist using five different states, it’s a multiple location job order.
I have four candidates from these postings in some phase of the interview process. The number of unacceptable responses was surprisingly low, compared to the primary boards.
Research established these comparisons using an identical job order:
1. Careerbuilder - 69 replies
2. Craigslist - 51 replies
3. Monster 7 - replies
4. Hotjobs 2 - replies
Considering the maximum cost for a Craigslist job posting is $25.00, guys, this is a no brainer!!
You can post a free ad without an account, but I would highly recommend opening an account, it’s free and simple. This will allow you to manage your postings, edit, add, delete, and repost.
Once you have established your account, go to www.craigslist.org and click on my account located at the top left of the screen. At the top right drop down box, choose the city where you would like to post your job, then select job offering
On the next page, select, I will abide by these guidelines. You will then have a complete list of categories to choose from. Selecting your category will bring up the job order form. A simple copy and paste will complete the job in minutes. Even though the job order needs to be listed in a specific city and state, it is not necessary to include the exact location in the actual advertisement. I used the states only in the location box when I posted. Also, I choose cities that offered free posting – that’s just me!!
Once you have entered the information and completed the salary section, select continue. You will then have the opportunity to view your ad as it will appear online. Make any edits before posting. Once again, select continue. You will then need to enter two words as seen on your screen, and DONE.
