ianwelshI am thinking about State/Provincial or Federal legislation that determines who may claim to be a Human Resources Professional and hang out an HR shingle in whatever form.  To enforce the legislation there would be a Human Resources Association handling the accreditation side and any other legally enforceable aspects.

As a manager and HR professional, I encounter a lot of foolishness and hatefulness in the workplace. Passive-aggressive behavior, back-stabbing, finger-pointing, laziness, discrimination, bullying and flagrant insubordination are all too real! This is part of the reason I enjoy working in HR. I get to help find justice for wronged individuals; I get to help train and develop other managers to overcome these same issues and prevent them for the future.

Prefer, Want, Need, Settle- A guide to going after the client preference

A couple weeks ago I was sitting in a business meeting with the President of my company, who has a profound and common sense based insight unlike anyone I have encountered. The topic came up regarding what clients prefer and want verses need and settle with. I thought a great deal around this subject and mentally wanted to embrace that very thought and dug into much deeper.
