Count them…go on…then come back in an hour when you’re done.  The one I’m looking at is 106 pages*…God Almighty!  First of all, I understand the importance of covering our bases to the Nth degree in this crazy messed up litigious world (or country) that we live in.

MYTH: Discrimination is found in less than 2 percent of EEO complaints.
FACT: Discrimination may occur in up to 33 percent of EEO cases.

Don’t Make HR Mom Go All Helicopter

kristaThe other day, I had an exchange with a Facebook friend concerning an article about helicopter parents at work. She said, “Krista, do you see any helicopter parent involvement in the applications you receive? Any parents show up for the interview? This seems SO CRAZY.” I told her that I have HR colleagues who’ve had employees’ parents call to argue performance review ratings. And while I haven’t encountered that myself, sometimes young folks respond to job offers with,”I have to ask my mom.”
